When Drunk driving father, Son Police Report


Rhode Island - Fearing for his life, a ten years old boy called police from the back seat of the car to tell him that his father likely under the influence of alcohol while driving. It is true, after the car accident. 

A 10 years old boy called 911 to say that he feared for his safety and his brother 12-year-old as their father drove Mercedes-Benz at high speeds in Connecticut after allegedly had been drinking alcohol earlier. Police also went to Rhode Island, where the family lived. 

However, Owen Gilman, his father had crashed into the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Fortunately, the children were not seriously injured, but the driver of the Jeep is known injured and taken to hospital. 

During the phone call, the boy had also told the police that he was considering the possibility to jump out of the car because he felt it would be a safer option than constantly being in a car with a drunk driver, even though it was his own father. Finally, Gilman was arrested after failing a test. 

When it was brought to New London Superior Court, the judge told him that if the charges were true, then Gilman has behaved appalling and should make their own children safe. 

He had been indicted on charges ranging from reckless driving, driving under the influence, failing to keep a distance while driving, possession of drugs, sale of illegal substances, and assault with a motor vehicle and several other charges. According to the Daily Mail, estimated fees charged will reach U.S. $ 250,000.
